The first ‘Smart Lounge’ was launch in 2016 by the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) to strengthen customer service standards and to ensure round-the-clock access to DED’s business registration and licensing services.
It features dedicated user-friendly and interactive kiosks and smart devices and supports visually challenged people through keyboards in Braille as well as black and white screens. It has a telephone handset to talk to a DED customer service representative to assist the users remotely.
